ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lambasted the government over the arrest of PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz. He staged protest in the National Assembly over Maryam Nawaz’s arrest. The opposition gathered in front of the speaker’s dais and a ruckus was created.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari walked out of the House along with the opposition. The whole country needs to unite against Narendra Modi at the moment but ‘selected’ Prime Minister Imran Khan is doing politics to satisfy his ego by arresting women, Bilawal said while walking through the Parliament corridor.

Condemning the arrest while speaking during Thursday’s National Assembly session, Bilawal lamented that the country was witnessing “a new era of dictatorship.”

Bilawal said, this government arrested an opposition leader, a woman. My family has been in politics for generations. We saw a dictator Zia used to go after his political opponents. We are seeing a new era of dictatorship today, in Naya Pakistan,” the PPP chairman said.

“History will remember that Imran Khan, who used to talk about justice, who told the youth of this country that he will deliver justice in his Naya Pakista today, without any conviction, you arrested Maryam Nawaz,” Bilawal said.
